Success in learning good management skills in MFIs requires more than microfinance sector expertise of their trainers. The MFMI seeks to encourage relevant learning initiatives that integrate microfinance technical knowledge with each country context, in programs that address the varieties of ways people gain knowledge, develop skills and shape attitudes.
Therefore, the MFMI works to enhance its network members' insights and knowledge about global microfinance and to build skills that enable better processes for creating learning programs. MFMI frames the process in the diagram below by the ADDIE model: 1) analysis, or research of the context, 2) good design to meet the needs of the learner, 3) development of a variety of learning tools and methods to fulfill the adult learning cycle, 4) professional implementation or delivery, and 5) evaluation methods to ensure that the learning uptake has the desired impact.
